On November 19, 2022, the Hawthorne Seventh-day Adventist Church was truly blessed when Pastor Joseph Tonga accepted the call to serve as our head pastor. From the very beginning, Pastor Joe, his wife Ui, and their daughter Debbie became an incredible blessing to our church family. Their love, warmth, and dedication to ministry touched each of us in a lasting way.

August 16, was a  bittersweet Sabbath,  as our congregation gathered for a special farewell service to honor and thank the Tonga family for their faithful service over the past few years. Their presence has strengthened our community, encouraged our faith, and created memories we will cherish for years to come.

As they begin their next chapter in Michigan, our prayers go with them. We ask that God continue to guide, bless, and use them in mighty ways. Pastor Joe, Ui, and Debbie—you will always have a home here at Hawthorne. Thank you for everything you have poured into our church family.
